Say if a Kotter's theory question came up asking you to apply the theory to a case you have studied this year... what change case will you apply it to?

I'm thinking of going with Qantas and it's proposed change to reduce it's workforce by 1000 jobs as well as expanding operations overseas where there is increased demand.

Australia Post's Real Life situation

Australia Post Dispute Set to Escalate in Mt Waverley

POSTIES at the centre of a growing industrial dispute at Australia Post’s Mt Waverley office fear a new mail-sorting system will endanger staff and disrupt deliveries.

The Communication Workers Union and Australia Post are in a stand-off over claims 12 posties at the office have been laid off for refusing to adopt a new delivery method.

The dispute focuses on a new bundling system where posties have to sort mail while are on the road.

CWU organiser Chris Spindler said the system would put posties at risk of injury and delay parcel deliveries.

“The more you’re outside you’re at risk of being involved in an accident,” Mr Spindler said.

“One of the issues is that posties are now going to be more focused on sorting mail than the next driveway or the car coming toward them, which is only going to end badly.”

The union is claiming the postal giant delivered the bad news to the 12 workers recently.

But Australia Post spokesman Jeff Mollet said suggestions workers had been stood down were “simply untrue”.

“A small number of staff refused to undertake separate bundle delivery work as requested,” Mr Mollet said.

“The new procedures that have been put in place to improve mail delivery have been reviewed at the request of the union by the independent body, Comcare, who found that Australia Post had carefully considered all the impacts of separate bundle delivery.

“Since separate bundle delivery was introduced last month, we’ve now successfully rolled it out to over 700 delivery rounds across the country, with the overwhelming majority of posties finding the procedure to be a straightforward way to deliver mail.”

The Leader understands the suspended workers at the office have been clocking on before being told to go home when they refused the new conditions.

Mr Spindler warned the layoffs could be the first of many, with the union expecting other posties to fight the proposed changes.

I used Dunn & Bradstreet last year, there's a comprehensive guide of how they used each step of the theory to transform corporate culture somewhere on the net.

shall be doing it on bendigo bank (social responsibility).
it's such a boring organisation to study, especially on kotter's bullshit.
but this has been chosen by my teacher and i have no time whatsoever to do research on my own.

Any chance someone could find the link to this? :s I've been looking for ages and can't seem to find it.

this willl sound pedantic.. but how are you planning to set your answer out? i am aware that examiners don't like dot points but i think this way will be most efficient for me:

'1 - create a sense of urgency: bendigo and adelaide bank blah blah blah'

of course i won't jump straight into the steps (i would talk about how bendigo has changed etc) but is this an ok response as compared to 'firstly, the organisation has to..' which i find annoying especially when we have to do it EIGHT times.

Rossij, What would you say for Qantas?

Qantas is wanting to globalise their operations as their recent fall in QANTAS international profit has raised concerns..blahblahblah

yeah if kotters were to come up as the 10mark question, its something like 4 marks for outlining the change the chosen organisation is going through, and 6 marks for applying the steps.

if ur worried about ur response, just use the dotpoints and turn them into sentences, such as
the first step would be to create a sense of urgency, for bendigo and adelaide this would be blahblah :D

Is there any chance that it just ends up being a case study from the exam?
