Help chap 17D + 17E - Essential Further Mathematics 3rd edition.

Does anyone have links to expand the knowledge in the book/make it more simplistic, any tutorials and whatnot because i dont have a clue whats going on in them 2 exercises. I feel that the book doe snot explain it with detail at all/does not explain how to get answers/solutions etc.
-Im stressed on these exercises as past multiple choice VCAA exam questions have been related directly to these 2 chapters.
-The chapters are just incase:
-Relations of the form y=kx^n for n=1,2,3,-1,-2.
-Linear representation of non-linear relations.
Thanks.

Y=kx^n is what is my biggest weakness :( the book doesn't say shit about it

well im assuming you havnt done methods because i have and to me those questions are breeze. i reccomend asking a friend u have that does methods because they can explain it better than any book at this point. its just too late to master non linear graphs at this point imo...

ok for 2010 Q8:
y=3x^2
when y is plotted against x the resulting graph is parabolic. but when y is plotted against x^3 you have to treat (x^2) as a variable and sort of ignore the square. when u learn how to do that its simple. the graph has a gradient of 3. so it has to be A. dunno if thay makes sense tell me ill try more.

um Q7 2008 is pretty much the same thing just other way around. treat x^2 as the variable, gradient is 1/4 so it has to be y=1/4x^2.
Q7 2007 is a bit trickier. you first need to determine the function of the curve. looking at the gradient is 1/3 and the variable is x^3 so y=1/3x^3 . then its just a matter of checking which point satisfies this equation. and it has to be C because 1/3*1^3=1/3. hope that helps.
