For women's eyes only!

Ladies, this one is for you (Boys if you clicked on this despite the topic name its your own fault) :)

In terms of being sick on the day of your exam, does having your period really bad count for you being able to not sit the exam?

And I mean like almost vomiting-nausea-pain type period?

Do you just go to the doctor and get a medical certificate? How do you go about it?

Can't believe I just posted that but I am really worried about it and I preferred not asking my teachers ...

I wouldn't say it counts as being 'sick', sorry. If you think about it, about 25,000 people could theoretically use that excuse, and there is no way VCAA is going to give derived scores for that many. They won't even give derived scores for normal illnesses half the time...
If you are really worried about it, go see your doctor NOW and ask for any medications that will ease the pain. Otherwise just stock up on the panadol. :)

EDIT: The title alone will make boys read this thread. Just sayin'. :D

Shit, I didnt even think about that. And I cant even remember when Im due. Luckily I dont usually get cramps etc. Hopefully that wont change this time around.

LOL this might sound a bit stupid, but I guess you probably wont be allowed to take in a hot water bottle?

If that were the case, I'd fall asleep rather than do the exam hahaha

No. If you are in an excessive amount of pain though, you should go to a doctor. They might be able to recommend appropriate medication.

Just saying girls, I would stick to panadol or over the counter stuff rather than any hardcore pain medications at this late stage; a friend of mine was put on a prescription pain reliever for joint and back pain and subsequently could not focus at all in exams. :\

Why did you have to say women's eyes only, of course I looked :(
2011 - English, English Language, Philosophy, Indonesian SL, Outdoor and Environmental Studies.

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

This thread is a great example of reverse psychology.
