Simplifying & Rationalising

Would VCAA deduct marks for not simplifying fully for example: 1-1/sqrt(2) instead of (2-sqrt(2))/2; and the same for not rationalising the denominator?

Oh and do we need to know approximate increase of y? like hf'(x)

No they're equally simplified.
And I'd suggest that you know it
