study score predictions

Alright, i'm really worried about my ATAR as i really want to get into the biomedicine at melbourne.

But, maybe someone could help me with a prediction for English.

I've gotten A, B+, B+, B+, A+, A for my sacs.

and hopefully an A+ in the exam. I think i aced context(about 9/10) and text (about 9/10), but lang analysis was ok(about 7-8/10) .

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :D

It's been a while since I did VCE but I think that corresponds to 40+, which is very good!

On a different note, even if you don't get into biomed, the bachelor of science pretty much offers everything biomed can, so I wouldn't be too stressed. :)

Will take it one step further and say that it's also a better option (Science that is).

thanks! But i want to get a 99 to get a guaranteed place in Doctor of medicine at melbourne uni. i don't mind if its science or biomed as long as i become a doctor one day! i didn't get an interview at monash, hence i am a bit worried.

But, i would like to know why you consider science a better option.

Thanks again. :D

Hey discogirl! From what I've heard from people who have done both courses, Science cohort is generally 'weaker' or 'not as nerdy' (whatever haha) as the Biomed cohort, so it's slightly easier to get good results compared to everyone else.

Science is wider than Biomed but you can pick units in your science course to make it exactly the same as Biomed. Science is just biomed with a different name, to be honest. Pick the right units and it'll just be like the biomed course.

Also, science exams are easier than biomed, even though both biomed/science have the same lectures (apparently), same classes and pretty much do the same stuff. It's just that the name of 'Biomed' probably sounds more prestigious. My careers counseller at Haileybury says both courses are the same.

Good luck, I hope you get into med tho!! You can do it!!!!

cheers

If it's the chancellors scholarship you're talking about you actually need a 99.90. I've never heard of guaranteed places for 99 and above.. but i could be wrong though. Anyone else know?

^ it's a guaranteed full fee place for 99+ I think. No HECS.

PS. Science > Biomed there is so much more choice (though I have heard general complaints about the stupidity of the general student body @Melbourne...offputting, or a chance to get easy good grades?)
I won the GAT: 49/50/50.

Hey guys,

Could anyone tell me roughly what study score I'd get with high A+ for Sacs and a low-ish A+ or high A on the exam?

Cheers  :)

Hey! I would say that could result in a study score between 39-42, if the SACs remain a high A+ :)
