There are blank pages before every lined page for that haha.... they take what's on the lined page as your final written examinable piece.... but hopefully you'll have a nice marker who will know what you meant and will give you a break haha :)

The pages that were lined was pages we were meant to write on right?!? Haha, now I'm worrying that I started the essays on the 'blank' pages but I know they all had lines :P
Although I doubt examiners would really care either way!

examiners are lenient enough to look for your work if you write an essay in the wrong booklet (i've heard this from not the chief examiner, but a high up there one). if they will make this effort when you make a mistake big enough as writing in the wrong book, im sure they'll be lenient enough to make the effort to turn the page. especially if at the top of your page you wrote 'Plan'
thats what i did anyway.
also, theyre told to not look at statement of intentions which would be on the lined paper (even though thats context and i think we're talking text here), but point is, they don't just mindlessly mark anything on the lined bit. they mark your essay, because of the 40000 17/18 year olds, there will be small errors everywhere that they can't let get in the way of their marking. plan on first page included.

Did you analyse the comments? I only had time to link in one comment.. I fucking hated that shit it was ambiguous as hell topped with some random people's comments I didn't give 2 cents about.. UGH. I feel crap now. Oh well, time will tell.

'Twas crap, the comments were bland and superficial...despite being like the only thing to analyse in the entire section

LA was a great discriminator, mainly because it was hard to do structurally - there were 5 pieces of writing and two images... I mean COME ON.

Not to worry Wong, humans/people mark your exams- not robots (for Eng at least).

However, WTF were you thinking? :P

the comments in LA were disagreed upon by teachers at my school (senior teachers that are examiners and first year graduates alike). Some were saying what i did was what was intended: analyse the blog only because the task was "ANALYSE THE BLOG THE POWER OF INK" not the comments, and just use the comments as the viewpoints of target audiences. the way i read it was only analyse the blog, but the comments were kind of a context for what you were analysing, but not to be analysed themselves. Others though were saying it was all included in the blog, and everything was to be analysed as a kind of hex-analysis (or however many separate things it was)

but it was honestly horrible. i do literature, and so I'm no stranger to analysing passages and finding their views and values in the way that the LA requires (without sounding cocky, but it's pretty much a whole subject dedicated to language analysis). the piece i wrote was one of the worst i ever have. im expecting abbout a 5 or 6 for it, because i think i missed the contention

Hey, the head chief of VCAA went on 3AW and talked about the exam. This is a transcript of what he said;

Quote
[Presenter]: ...I noticed the final part... was the analysis of a blog ... I was intrigued though that there was only the one blog that people had to look at.

[Mr. Firth]... This is the ... first time we've used it in the format of a blog but the students were asked to respond to the argument that's being put by the main writer. There was also a couple of pictures that they were asked to respond to how they added to or made a difference to the argument and then there was a series of comments at the end as well that students were also asked to include in their analysis.

As long as you made some reference to the comments (maybe as a technique to proliferate the illusion of equality between arguments or a stylistic feature of an interactive blog) you should be fine =D. From what I gathered, detailed analysis of the comments was not required although one could chose to analysise it in detail if one wished.

You might be surprised; I often am when it comes to english marks. :)
