Hey guys wondering what happens if you happen to fail a core unit (ENG1091).
I don't think ive failed (probably close to), but I'm a bit paranoid.

So yeah, what happens? Do you retake the subject before doing ENG2091?

you never know, you might not fail.

if you fail a core unit, afaik you have to resit it, and probably look again at the subjects you're doing next semester to see if any of them need eng1091 as a prerequisite cause you wont be able to do them til later.

soooo in essence, yes, you retake the subject before doing eng2091.

Yeah you would have to retake it since it is a core subject. Subject would have been better if the lecturers were more helpful, but then again so would so many other subjects.

A lot of engineering courses are okay with people doing ENG1091 in 2nd year alongside some 2nd year eng subjects. If you fail, definitely talk to your course advisor (found on the engineering website) and they'll work out the best plan to do your subjects (which might require overloading at some point)
Religion and Society (38), IT - Software Development (45) English (35), Chemistry (49), Methods CAS (48), Specialist Maths (50)

engineering units are not offered in the summer, and none equivalent units are either

For some faculties if you get between 45-49 and its a significantly important part of your course you can apply for a "supplementary exam". It's essentially another exam which you take and if you pass you are awarded a 50. Nothing over that but 50 is a pass. If you're in the situation to apply for this in the first place, you've already failed the unit, so, considering that, a pass is not that bad. I highly suggest you look into the supplementary exam and talk to your faculty and enquire as soon as possible, just in case. Doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Cheers mate, I haven't failed yet, going to be an anxious wait for results, but apparently with a score 45-49 they may pass you based on attendance to tutorials etc. So yeah still hope XD
