A question on technicality and wording

Okay, this annoys me a lot.
when it says
"in July, the owner invested $50,000 in a term deposit'
is that in reference to at the end of july, or at the beginning? or sometime in the middle.
if its the middle thats screwed

it should usually say the date, or at least at the beggining or the end of july, otherwise the question is too vague and everyone should get free marks haha XP

altho if i were to do it on the exam, i would go with the beggining.
