What happens if you've gotten A-A+ all year but you mess up the exam really badly?? :( How will this effect your score if you get say a C/C+/B on the exam? I was so nervous and ended up writing so poorly, it feels like my effort all year has gone to a complete waste... :(

Amos; if you're in a strong cohort, ranked decently high (at least in the top 4), you should at least pull through with a decent mark. Apparently 'B' equates to a 36, but if you get below that'd be less. I'm fairly sure SACS are 25% each, and the am 50% in itself so they should balance each other out to a degree. Though you do have to bear in mind if you really have done badly in the exam, then your SAC marks are questioned for their validity and may be pulled down.

I'm sure it's just post-exam nerves though. How are you sure you wrote poorly? Also; do you have each individual SAC score? That could be more beneficial in providing ani dea of what exam score you could get.

I am in quite a strong cohort, and although my school doesn't tell students their rankings, my teacher did tell me I was high. Hopefully I can pull off a B. I don't know, I just felt so unsure and worried coming out of it, especially compared to how I've written in sacs. I suppose its to be expected though, in such tense conditions. Hopefully it is just nerves!
Thank you so much for your reply :)

Amos; I was right there with you. Still am there with you, feeling like I've done a doozy of a bad job and desperately seeking reassurance I'll be okay. We can only wait, hey? And look for all the stress they put on it, the assessors have to remember at the end of the day the tense conditions, the time limit, the mental conditions and stress and such. They can't mark us like we should be child geniuses, although there will be the handful of exceptions. But we'll just have to wait and see, hey? What texts did you write on, out of curiosity?

All the best.

At the VATE seminars one of the lecturers said that they lower the standards for marking because they know how prone students are to tension despite hours of studying, especially when you need to write from 1500-2500 words in two hours and do it well. If that's any comfort (:

I love you. Marry me. You and your reassuring constant presence on all these Lit threads preventing me from having meltdowns. <33333333333 I really hope that's the case though.
