Server Move

Due to an issue with the RAID card, we are back on the old server for a day. This also means we lost a day or two worth of posts, but they will be back once we switch back to the new server. Also, because of DNS cache, a lot of you will still be resolved to the new server IP, which means you won't be able to see this post. An easy solution is to close your browser, go to Start > Run, type CMD, and enter in ipconfig /flushdns. If you're still experiencing problems after this, try flushing your browser cache as well. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry to hear all the trouble.

I can forsee some problems when we go to the new server again, namely SMF doubling up on post id and such. Will new posts on the current server be lost once we migrate back to the new servers?

Hmmm it works on both my phone and my computer. Yay! Question: How are people who can't see this post supposed to read the command prompt instructions?
I hope the new server's ok, I know how bloody expensive those things are :S and how messy it can be when they stuff up. Good luck, Mr. IT guy!

I posted it on Facebook as well. Also, feel free to tell everyone you know... Even if they aren't a member.
The server is okay... Just had to replace a very expensive RAID card. It survived Stresslinux but not the real world. =/

But seriously, I can get VN on my phone but not on my comp. Lol.

If you flushed the DNS cache, then it's your ISP's cache still resolving to the wrong IP. You can either wait for your ISP to update, or you can use something like Google DNS or OpenDNS.

The new RAID card has been overnighted, so we should be back to the new server tomorrow.

I did both things and didn't work originally. But now it works so meh :) I'm not complaining.
