Taken into consideration the lack of engineers in Australia, why are there not many people aspiring to engineering?

This is just a wild guess but perhaps it's because people don't perceive it to be as 'social' a career than say, commerce, not as money-making as health/law/banking whatever, maybe not enough girls (heh) and maybe too much maths.

Or maybe everyone is just misinformed.

I'm gonna summerise my experience in engineering: "Sup, heres an equation, I can try and explain how to derive it and I will but you won't understand it, ever. Just take it for granted, find all the necessary numbers in a question, which by the way is really fkn hard, and solve away!" Essentially engineering is gay... theres no other word for it.

There's a reason why engineering students get smashed all the time,
