Supposed examiner told us to compare and contrast the difference and similarities with centralised and decentralised approach.....Everything is written from the back of my head. could someone crosscheck?

CENTRALISED AND DECENTRALISED APPROACH

$\begin{tabular}{|p{5cm}|p{5cm}|} \hline \textbf{Centralised Approach} & \textbf{Decentralised Approach} \\ \hline It involves a third party (AIRC) where both sides argument are settled in an arbitration and an Award is established by the conciliation and arbitration tribunal. & There is little involvement of a 3rd party as both employees and management bargain the working terms and conditions at the operational level. \\ \hline Salary and wages should be based on the Award as every individual with the similar job receives similar payment regardless of productivity. & Employees are not allowed to bargain away their sick leave, annual leave, and other job entitlement. \\ \hline Employees are subjected to closed doors (where only union members are allowed to work in a particular industry) & Employees are NOT allowed to be subjected to closed doors as anyone have the right to work in an industry whether or not a union member. \\ \hline & 3 Types of Enterprise Bargaining Agreement : Collective Agreement, Certified Collective Agreement and ?? \\ \hline Voting for strikes is not confidential, as a consequence employees are subjected to bullying & Strike is conducted with secret ballot. \\ \hline They do not focus mainly on productivity and flexibility. & It allows greater flexibility and productivity \\ \hline \end{tabular}$

Advantages and Disadvantages of Centralised Approach

$\begin{tabular}{|p{5cm}|p{5cm}|} \hline \textbf{Advantages} & \textbf{Disadvantages} \\ \hline It provides a certainty for working terms and conditions for every employee working for similar industries even having different employers.& Reduce workplace flexibility as they do not opportunities to practise optimum working relationship encompassing to aspect of working terms and conditions. \\ \hline Government have tighter control over wages and salaries which promotes equity (???) & Does not consider individual circumstances as wages are fixed and minimal or no opportunites for trade off of wages over productivity. \\ \hline Trade Union can have more control and there is a greater potential for taking industrial action. & Employers will suffer from industrial actions if industrial disagreement arouse. \\ \hline & Fixed wages and salaries imposed by the AIRC undermines the importance and significance of participative management where both parties ideas are sought\\ \hline & \\ \hline &\\ \hline & \\ \hline \end{tabular}$

Advantages and Disadvantages of Decentralised Approach
