I am so screwed for this :(

What are your tips?? I struggle to write out the romaji while listening to the rest of the stuff.... its goes too quickly!
If they speak a little slower then i might have a change otherwise it will be the end of me :'(

1st listening - dont pay attention to the questions (or just have them in the back of your mind) and try to copy down EVERYTHING because you should be able to spot some small details since you're going crazy to copy down all the facts rather than going "what do I need for this question...I dont need this, WAIT SHI-- I DO."

2nd listening - before this DONT write your answers down, now listen again carefully to fill in what you didnt catch, pay attention to the questions this time, start crying over what you missed

and for simple words like "benkyou" just write down "ben" or a shortened version because you'll probably be able to remember what you were trying to write during the small waiting period for the 2nd listening

...so yeah, just try to write down half the word or something, bleh, whatever suits you?

In uni jap the listening was x480932840938921 easier because you get

1. 3 listenings
2. the first listening is normal paced, the second listening is on x0.5 speed and the third listening has short breaks per sentence on x0.5 - the only reason why I lost marks was because we were not allowed a dictionary in the exam so I was done for when it came to english translations, simply because I didnt know what the word meant :( but i'd take it anyday over VCE
3. the marking isn't like "WHAT, NO COPYPASTA? NO まる FOR YOUUUUUU."

I just tired to copy down everything from 2010 on blank sheet of paper...no chance I can copy everything down haha.
My strategy is just read the questions and listen out for the answers.

I often find that reading the questions carefully and then listening for the right information works for me.
About pencil thickness. Try and write with something reasonably dark. Teacher noticed my invisibly light 0.5 lead writing and told me off. :*(

BTW, I want to thank Furbob for being so helpful to us Japanese students. Want to wish everyone luck for tomorrow! がんばってね!

Whenever I write notes during listening it's a hybrid of hiragana, kanji, romaji and katakana. Sometimes it helps to write it in the respective scripts.

Like if you write ben as in the kanji, its obvious its about study as opposed to wriitng it in romaji - it could be anything. Especially if it's a western word, I think you should write it in katakana, without having to write the entire word... I write in romaji when I freak and cant think.. usually a word I dont know...  But that's just me.

It's really important to write your notes down the page in the order you hear it. Because if you put some words above others or add in a word with an arrow it might get confusing as to which question it's related to and you might stuff up when you return during the break to answer the questions

Listening is going to be so scary =c

**The exam is going to be so scary :o
I want the exam to be over with! But at the same time, i want to get a decent mark....
I feel like giving up on listening and just wing that, already decided to wing the reading, and only going to go through structures again for the essays...
