I have my doubts that anyone on here does music haha, but if there's anybody out there. What did you think of the exam?

I had a power cut half way through so that was pretty interesting :P But overall it was pretty easy, much easier than last years group performance one anyway

it was great! loved all the multiple choices, and asking us all the easy chords and scales and such! the only thing i couldnt do was the chord progression, but ive never been able to do it, so knew it was highly unlikely to happen in the exam.
and i was surprised the rhythmic and melodic transcriptions were so easy....we did those standard ones in year 9!

and the songs for analysis were great! i wrote heaps, more than i'd ever done before.

YAY! There's someone here haha, yeah it was pretty nice, i've always been useless at melodic dictation, but that was really the only thing i had a problem with, and one of the rhythmic multiple choices i wasn't ready for it to be in 3's haha so that threw me a bit when it started but i was surprised at how easy the rhythmic dictation was. That analysis was brilliant though, i've always hated it but those songs were actually pretty easy to talk about, let us know how you went :D what instrument did you do for performance? and group or solo?

haha yeah, i generally don't like the analysis either, but the exam was great! we did practices on some of the randomest songs in preparation, like ska, but im glad the pieces were fairly normal!

i did flute, solo. pretty nervous about the result from that, coz i was sick, but not sick enough to get derived score. my accompanist still thought it went great, and said that i could get into uni with that level of playing, but im not so sure :S but that happens in live performances.

what do you play?

aah that's cool, at my school there weren't any orchestral instruments or anything, and that level of sick must have been unfortunate, but sounds like you managed alright. I did solo bass, was pretty happy overall with how i went but i made one mistake at like the end of one of my pieces so the last note didn't ring out which kinda sucked haha but yeah it was alright overall.
