HELP ADVICE FOR UNIT 3&4

hey guys i have a major problem we did exams like 2 weeks ago and i failed them like midyear methods and end of year because i had 2 year 12 exams , i didnt really focus on methods because  i knew i was  good at it , so i kinda slacked off however i did all the course work this year and have passed my sacs and tests average b's ..

So the teachers like who ever failed both mid year and end of year wont be able to 3 and 4 next year , i havent failed the course work or sacs or anyhing so technically i havent failed. however can teachers stop you fom doing a subject you really want to do. like is it against vccaa rules ???

They shouldn't be able to stop you if you haven't technically "failed", but even if they do, there are always ways around them (Distance Ed is one way for example) if you want to persist with methods (and you should!). The most likely scenario is that they will let you continue though, especially if they understand that you prioritised your 3/4s :)

However, you're neglect of methods 1/2 may put you at a disadvantage next year as the courses overlap a fair bit (like 60% same). However, don't stress :) You have a month or two ahead of you to work hard and catch-up on the time that you understandably instead spent on your 3/4s. I would recommend that you go over the following topics:
1) Function theory (graphs, domains, transformations etc.)
2) Differential calculus and applications
3) Integration and applications
4) Basic probability (not permutations and combinatorics though!)
5) Brush up on using your CAS, familiarity will help greatly next year

Good luck! :)

If you passed the rest of your stuff and averaged B's, then you should keep at it (just promise you'll try a bit harder next year and not fail anything). They can only stop you from doing a subject if you get an 'N' for "Not satisfactory", but if you've done 60%+ of the coursework and kept a B grade average for your other work, they can't make you drop methods. If they try, you always have other options, or try and get another maths teacher who knows you're good enough to advocate for you. Show them previous years' reports, show them what you can do when you make the effort.

It's a shame that some teachers are like that, but there's always a way around it. Talk to your school's Head of Maths or VCE Co-ordinator, explain the situation, you should be fine. Not exactly the same situation, but at the end of year 8 at my school, they pick ~30 kids to do accelerated maths and I didn't get in because my teacher told the Head of Maths I wasn't good enough. Later, my mum talked to the Head of Maths (really nice guy and awesome teacher), explained to him that I was the only kid in the year level who won Prizes in the AMC in Year 7 and 8, that I just got bored (well, year 8 maths was pretty boring) and didn't do so well on the tests, and so I was put into the accelerated class, which meant I could do Methods 3/4 in Year 11. Got 50 - proved my year 8 maths teacher wrong.

TL;DR: some teachers are bitches and you just shouldn't stand for it.

Seriously, considering you're not failing, all your teachers can really do is recommend you to either do or not do a subject. It's you're future so you decide. However, if you're a student who's fully on failing then the teachers will STRONGLY recommend you to not do it and might even call your parents etc.. to discuss and stuff like that. But when it comes down to your case, I see no reason they won't let you do methods :)
