Just a heads up that I literally didn't open the ECC1000 book at all for the entire semester, so don't worry about spending too much $$ on it :P. Best way to revise for that topic is to watch Stephen King's videos on youtube.

Stephen King is really good, his ECC1000 lecture yesterday was very entertaining. I looked for the PDF download yesterday too, but it was in heaps of parts.

Yeah I tried that. We're doing the same subject. Isn't that cool?

People in my class who wanted to switch emailed the unit convenor and she did the switch manually because we don't know who our tutors are until tutes actually start (week 2 for us).

-----------------------------------------

I've been at uni for 3 days this week and I'm already behind. I don't go to my lectures and watch them online because I learn better but of course half the time the stupid microphone doesn't work and has to mess everything up >.<

I think I'm juggling too many things and commitments and stressing myself out. After work and volunteering, I have so little time left and I'm trying to block out 9-5 on weekdays for study so I don't fall behind there. Struggling to fit everything in and balancing everything is going to get really hard really quickly I think. Adding to this, I'm trying to handle personal issues (see previous posts if wanted) and that's another source of stress for me. Trying to manage everything alone is so exhausting and daunting and I apologise for the above essay about nothing but I feel much better after getting all of that out :)

Yeh for direct swaps you tell the head tutor (or whoever you are supposed to according to that unit's policy) and they do the change manually.

Stephen King is the man! Sadly I did ECC1000 in second semester so I never had him as my lecturer :(.

I meant me personally. I'm not sure about the contact hours thing though. I've got 18 hours, how about you? How many do you all have?

I have 21 hours, but that's not including my research project, which suggests 7 hours a week, which would bring the total to 28 hours. This is one of my better semesters, too. :P (at least, timetable wise)

I've got 10, spread out over 4 days. Although 10 might seem like a small number, I have quite a lot of readings and revision of topics that I haven't touched since high school to do. The time I spend traveling on trains is more than my contact hours daily!

18 hours is normal to me. When I did my undergrad, it was around about 15-17 hours contact hours per week (contact hours vs. hours I actually attended are two separate things, though :P)

I got 22 hours with overloading and 5 units. I think that's pretty good! The commerce units definitely help out which keeps my hours under a straight engineering student.

Shit man, that's good as!!
Yeah, I find in general that classes with tutes instead of labs bring the contact hours down. (Y) Like, I had a friend who got two days off in science, because all he did was maths units.

I have 21 hours, which is kind of typical for a Science student with an Arts elective. It will continue to increase when I switch to completely Science units next year.

I definitely understand. I have uni going on, a job somewhere, tutor someone (i.e. my 2nd job, technically) and still try to fit usual daily shenanigans in there (you know, exercise, some form of a social life, etc.). My job is casual, so I have no idea until the last minute whether I can even go to uni on a certain day. Of course, that means I have to block that out. Unfortunately, even with the perfect timetable, I have to catch up with 2 lectures online minimum a week. So :( (I learn best when I'm at the lecture.)
All I know is that I'm going to be one exhausted cookie by the end of semester. /end mini-rant/
