They gave you a specific time that you'd get marks back?

Exactly what you should do :) Once you've been at a uni for a bit you start to understand the quality of work that is required. I'm in a similar boat, new uni and completely different discipline. I'm using my first assignment submissions to 'test the waters' basically to see how lenient/harsh they will be so then I can adjust my study to that. In some way its a good thing, but i'm risking quite a bit with high weighted assessments (40%+ per)

7/10 is a distinction which is pretty good for uni. did you assignment come with any feedback? I suggest you take note of it and if you have any queries speak to the tutor (or whoever is relevant) to get advice on how to improve.

Yeah. The major thing i have to work on is my grammar skills. My tutor emphasized heavily that i need to proofread my work. I did do it but not well enough. Silly mistakes like writing 'cast' instead of 'casts'. Also referencing! I learnt that you never put the first initial of the author you are referencing.

Thats it! By the way do different tutors mark your paper? Or will it be the same guy marking your papers for the whole unit?

What citation style is this?

EDIT: Oh, you mean for in-text citations?

Yes, spelling and grammar is important. I find it helps to read your work out loud and that way you can tell when things sound off in a much easier way than when just reading the words.

The library has referencing guides online which are very useful.

Spelling and grammar and referencing often make up 5-15% of the mark so you have a lot of potential to get HD's if you sort these issues out.

Yeah, it was actually really fun. I didn't think it was actually too hard. Just took forever to write everything up. How did you go? And yeah, not to happy he put up the 2nd assignment already haha. Was only just catching up with everything.

Has anyone ever done any of the Monash short courses ? Thoughts on them ?

On another note, Anna is very stressed out. She has 4 assignments and 4 weeks of lectures to catch up for 2 units before she goes away at the end of next week. RIP </3

What happens if someone's monash ID and signature is missing from a team assignments cover sheet? Someone in my group is impossible to reach, and our assignment is due at midnight tomorrow.

Thanks!
