7 subjects...?

So I've done two 3&4 subjects this year and I'm not too confident on the study scores I might receive. So...I'm thinking of doing a seventh subject to make up for my failure this year lol.
Just need some advice, is this the right path to take? Or should I just focus on the primary four subjects I have next year?

I'm kind of in same situation as you. I did 3/4 Chem and Jap this year.
Although I only wanted to do 4 next year but my school isn't allowing it, so I am doing 5.
I guess it's a good safeguard to do 5 just in case your perform poorly in one of your 3/4's this year. If you happen to do really well, you could drop one. So I suggest starting the year off with 5 and making a decision early next year :)

i wouldnt recommend it, it wont contribute to your study score much. Personally, i think its a waste of time and effort for doing a seventh subject. And tbh, i think you did fine for ur 3/4's :)

Thanks, but I can never be too confident :( I might screw myself over.

Right now I'm tossing between three options (note, economics is the 7th subject):
1. English, spesh, methods, chemistry and economics
2. English, spesh, methods and chemistry
3. English, spesh, methods and economics
I'm pretty good at maths but I tend to lose focus (and fall asleep) in chemistry classes. The reason I'm doing chemistry is because I want to keep my options open for courses after year 12, I also manage to squeeze in A's in chem tests. I enjoy economics on the other hand and actually contribute to the class but to choose eco would limit my options.

Sorry if I appear stupid...lol. But I'm a stubborn child I don't know what to do. x____x

I was in the same position last year - also getting average study scores for both subjects
Just play around with the atarcalc website and you'll get a pretty good idea on whether or not it will be worth it for you to do a 7th subject
Our school was also the same - they didn't let me do 4 subjects instead of 5
Do the 5, cause like you said, chem really does keep a lot of doors open for you when you graduate, and it sounds like you really enjoy economics so it'd be a shame for you to give that up
And plus, you can always drop a subject at some time throughout the year if you lose interest in it or you just don't want to do it, so at least start off with doing 5, and then if you think you're pressed for time or whatever, you could just drop it down to 4 later on
but you won't be pressed for time, there will be plenty of time for you to thoroughly study for each of your subjects

proabably don't do 7. I did 7 although it didn't seem difficult but I spent basically 0 hours studying for viet so if you do 7 i think it is best to focus on the subjects that you think would be in your primary 4 and don't put too much effort on the subjects that only count for 10% and your 7th which wouldn't count at all as the effort wouldn't raise your atar by much. Your time is much better spent on your top 4.

Don't do 7 unless you're really not happy with one that you've done earlier, like say if I do two subjects in Year 11 and there was one score which I wasn't happy with, then I would do 5 in Year 12, otherwise I would do 4 :)

in terms of choosing between chem and eco, if your not doing a 7th subject, i  say choose chem for the sake of  its wide options and scaling :)
imo, you'd rather spend more time concentrating on your primary four as eng, spesh, methods and chem do require a fair bit of workload. If you're still in a dilemma, take to your careers counselor lol

From personal experience, having done two 3/4s last year and 5 this year, I suggest you try maintain 5 subjects as best you can next year and if it really does become too tough, you still have to option of dropping a subject.  Doing 5 subjects also leaves you with a back-up subject in case one of your final exams next year happens to screw up. For me, I wasn't too happy after the English exam but my self-proclaimed 7th subject, which was literature, might actually end up in my top 4 :3.

Wait for your results before you make a decision - you may surprise yourself!

I agree with this sentiment though:

I was in the same position last year - also getting average study scores for both subjects

You can always start off with five, then just drop one / completely slack off in it.
