For this question, is there a better method than what I have done?

I expanded the matrix and got x + 5 = x' and -y = y'. Since we want x' = x and y' = y. I went through each option that represented an equation that would end up as y = x^2 after reversing these transformations. Luckily it was option A, but if it was like option E it would've been less direct.

Thanks

Edit: and for drawing exponential graphs, do we only need to label asymptotes and axis intercepts?

Hi, would someone be able to tell me the difference between the words "across, about, in, on, through" when it comes to graph reflections? It seems as though no one can come to an agreement as to what term they use. In one book i see "reflect about the y axis" in another i see "reflect across the y axis". I tried researching this question but it also seems as though I'm the only one confused in this regards. Do they all mean the same thing or?

All those terms seem like they're describing the same thing. Usually though, questions will either use "from" an axis or "parallel to"(less common) an axis (from y axis = parallel to x axis) for dilation, and "in" an axis for reflections.

First, do your best. Double check everything. Read the question carefully/highlight if you need to. Make sure your working out is clear, there's no shame in labelling the lines if you think it will help (eg: "<- using quadratic rule to find x").

It won't change your study score, so don't worry about that. Good luck :)

Thanks, also is there any chance of 40+ if i fail the first 1/2 sac. And we're not allowed calculator or summary book either

Definitely. 1/2 SACs don't mean anything for your study score, it's more like a trial run. With that in mind, the only consequence of failing a 1/2 SAC is you'll know what not to do next time. :)

I don't know if you know how 1/2 subjects work. They have no impact on your study score. Only 3/4's impact your study score. All you need to do in 1/2's is pass. That's it. So try but don't worry. If you stress this much for 1/2 you will wear yourself out and just be exhausted next year.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking for. If you could clarify, I'd be happy to help. :)

If i recall correctly, it was a question in my sac today, which i think i got around ~50%. Reasonably happy with how I went, considering that I wasn't the only person that found the sac challenging

find f(x) in the function f(x)=...?
Sure you don't mean the x intercept, y intercept, gradient, inverse function etc? The question posted doesn't really make sense but happy to help when it's clarified

Are you sure about the question? It makes no sense. Would be happy to help if clarified though :) or maybe you have another question?
