I did the content (from the textbook) during orientation week. I'm just having a go at Checkpoints for practice and brushing up on things.
Long story short, I studied MM 1/2 in my spare time earlier this year, but am studying it only this year at school. I was sketchy on many topics so I created a question thread.

Oh, i guess we can work together than, throughout the year and feed off one another?  Are you using the quest book?

I sure hope so :)
Unfortunately, I'm not using Maths Quest. For now, might as well post your questions on this thread, and if there is anything particularly challenging in 'Extended Response' or other tough sections, feel free to post it on my thread.

Alright sweet, i know I'm asking a lot of questions, but what else are you doing over the holidays for methods, as in what topics etc?  What are you aiming for as well for ss?

Ok, firstly, it's way too early to be discussing aims for a study score when I'm yet to begin Methods 1/2. I think I've done enough Methods for this holidays. It's not about how much you get done during the holidays that will deem you successful next year - chances are you'll forget the content by that time.

didn't you just go on holidays and you already done enough for methods?  Are you naturally good at maths and how much time have you spent on methods these holidays ,daily?

I'm not naturally good at math, I'm pretty sure my AMC results are amongst the worst in the state.
I can't quote any hours spent on math as it's really not my "daily" thing.

A farmer counts emus and sheep in a paddock, and notes there are 57 animals and 196 feet.  Assuming no animal amputees, how many of each animal are there?

Or 2e + 4(57 - e) = 196

BubbleWrapMan has given you a simultaneous equation. Now you just solve for either e or s :D

Edit: spelling

Just solve for e.
