About Philosophy

When I see a youth thus engaged,—the study appears to me to be in character, and becoming a man of liberal education, and him who neglects philosophy I regard as an inferior man, who will never aspire to anything great or noble. But if I see him continuing the study in later life, and not leaving off, I should like to beat him - Callicle

@thushan
Nervousness is natural at this time, especially when everyone is placing pressure or expectations on you based on previous results, however it's all good man. Keep at it, and you'll get through. I have full faith in you that you will achieve greatly :)

Well everyone, I wish you all the best tomorrow, know that whatever happens, your lives won't be defined by a number that is accurate to four significant figures (come on, you deserve better precision :P)!

Remember that no matter what, there will always be paths to go wherever you want to go in life, it's not a question of "if", but rather a question of "when"

If you ever feel like giving up on yourself, just remember that others out there are giving up every day and that if you persevere, you will be winning over them already and let that be your motivation.

Class of 2011, I wish you all the best and good luck for tomorrow (Especially everyone here who has put in the work and effort throughout the year)

had an ATAR dream last night:
i stuffed up the time difference (overseas at the moment) and ended up logging into the results website one month too early. VCAA informed me that because i was too keen, they were going to postpone the release of my ATAR until the end of january. :\

i woke up thinking 'shit i have to defer a year!', but it wasn't quite as morbid as SAC-related dreams involving teachers entering the wrong scores into the system which i had several times throughout the year..

I saw my literature teacher at the shops today and I thought about going over to her and asking if she knew my score yet, but decided it would be awks cos she was on the other side of a barrier thingy and I would've had to walk all the way around. Then I started to over analyse, thinking 'why is she at the shops!? Is it retail therapy cos she's depressed over our scores, or is she buying herself a congratulatory present, or merely tending to the day's grocery needs?'

yeah im paranoid about the possiblity and shit that would follow about them inccorecntly putting in sac scores.

how would we know, i mean it could be a small difference like say a 50 to 47, but still we wouldn't suspect anything unless we got statements

So when do our normal subject teachers know our results? And are they our individual SS or statistics of the whole class/cohort?
