I hear from somewhere that Mark Zuckerberg is gonna close it down due to it being like unmanageably chaotic on march 2012

http://weeklyworldnews.com/headlines/27321/facebook-will-end-on-march-15th/  March 13 2011

Quote
PALO ALTO, CA –Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut down in March of 2012. Managing the site has become too stressful.

“Facebook has gotten out of control,” said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, “and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”

Zuckerberg went on to explain that starting March 15th of next year, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts.

I am a bit sceptical that it will happen though.
April's Fools Joke

lol that was my first thought. What got me was that it wasn't in April.

Anyway why would he close down fb? lol it's earning him so much, if he really wanted to get away from the stress he could just sell it :P

I used fb a lot during year 12 lol but i havent used it as much since it finished. It was mainly to help other ppl out during the year and get help from others as well as having a chat with friends etc.

I love facebook and I think it improves my quality of life.

So much easier to keep in touch with people you can't see due location restrictions
For me there are a class of 'friend' that I would always not at at school, or take part in a group conversation with that I'd generally get along with, but never hang out that much on a one to one basis/organize a catchup. With facebook you still don't lose those people and when you bump into them it's nothing near awkward.

Personally I share music/articles/videos and generally can create a discussion out of them, which is very difficult in real life, and easier than doing so on a forum.

Also it's an amazing feeling when you meet a hot chick irl, and they go 'yeah I've seen you around on facebook'. Makes getting to know them heaps easier lmao.

I don't think it's really disadvantaged me academically or socially, I still head out to see people regularly, and never find myself actively using Facebook when I know I should be studying. That said there are some people that don't know how to manage their use of it.

I personally see video games as considerably more disruptive to one's social/academic life.

Stalking people on facebook is safer, less creepy and more legal than doing it in real life. Fewer rashes from bushes as well. You also get a wider scope of people all at once

It's really not that hard to quantify..., but I believe that being raped once is not as bad as being raped five times, even if the one rape was by a gang of people.

Sounds too familiar.
‎"We divert our attention from disease and death as much as we can; and the slaughter-houses and indecencies without end on which our life is founded are huddled out of sight and never mentioned, so that the world we recognize officially in literature and in society is a poetic fiction far handsomer and cleaner and better than the world that really is."

There are quite a few attention seeking whores on fb which makes me sad, I'm glad I'm not one of those people as I have better things to do.
