I still can't believe how well one of the students at my school did...
For the past few years, the dux has always been either 96.xx, 97.xx or 98.xx, but this year someone got a 99.55!!!
2012 ATAR - 86.75
2013 ATAR - 88.50
2014: BSci (Statistics) at RMIT
2015 - 2017: BCom at UoM

Mac.Rob not only topped the state, but they owned it. Their median atar is like 96.7 or something and apparently this year's mhs cohort is one of the worst ever :(

Even so, you guys probably still had a ridiculous median anyway! MHS performed well regardless haha, I wouldn't see it as a disappointment.

^Nah man, we were a whole percentage down from last year's results.
That'd be like, around 400 places lower!

It's not out yet, it will be in tomorrow's paper. We just know the mhs and mac.rob medians and all our comments are simply comparisons and speculations.

Do you know if they'll be in the Herald Sun, The Age or both?

Here's the link for Macrob...

Creep around on most schools websites and you can find their results

:)

I guess, but considering the size of the mhs cohort, that's still pretty solid

Just saying, in terms of school ranking and everything, have we generally gone on % 40+ study scores, or median ATAR? Kinda forgot from last year...

EDIT: And also, are those 40+ scores scaled/unscaled?
2010: PE [50]
2011: English [42 - 41.61] Methods CAS [34 - 39.37] Studio Arts [50] Media [40 - 37.06] German [34 - 43.68]
ATAR: 98.95
2012: Bachelor of Arts (Journalism)/Bachelor of Visual Arts (Photography) @ Monash Caulfield

Usually %40+ (not all schools disclose median atar), and these are raw (other wise there would be columns for 50+ in LOTEs, spesh, etc.)

Any Mac.Rob vs MHS discussion should now go here: School Rankings as to not take away anything from other cohorts that deserve a mention in this thread :)

IB Results just came out. My school's median ATAR is now 95.05 (50% of kids got 95+), we have 3 99.95s (2 VCE, 1 IB)

11% 99.5+ (~20 kids)
19% 99+ (33 -34 kids)
31% 98+ (~55 kids)
I won the GAT: 49/50/50.
