Inspection of Exam Script?

Hi guys, my English mark was a fair bit less than I was expecting, especially considering that kids at my school with similar SAC marks got 49s and 50s. I feel like something is wrong, but I heard you can't apply to have exams re-marked. What's the process for this? Getting a statement of marks then an inspection of examination script and seeing if the two match up?

I flopped english too. I was averaging A+'s in practice exams, but ended up with an A for 41. Oh well, such is life. I doubt anything can age.. english is just so subjective and shit its criminal

yeah completely agree on this, even if your teachers think your essay is perfect, examiners could always come up with something and mark you down, way too subjective lol

Well just go get a statement of marks and inspection of your paper, i guess that's the best you can do, I doubt they'll remark and change your marks unless they added something up wrong.

You will most likely still get a faculty scholarship anyway, if you're a new gen degree at melbourne.

1- is it possible to obtain your statement of marks for a subject you did last year? (bio in 2010 for me)
2- What happens during an inspection of script for English? Do you simply get to read your essay or can you have a teacher alongside who can recommend a different mark to change your mark?

I've been offered an access scholarship from Melbourne, but I would only go to Melb if I had guaranteed CSP MD place upon graduation. As for monash...the gave me a science faculty scholarship, but I'm not going to do science if I go there, I'm going to do MBBS. I don't understand why Melb gave me an Access Scholarship but Monash gave me Sci Scholarship rather than Excellence & Equity or Merit... it would be so much better, I would actually be able to use one of those scholarships for the course I want to do :S very annoyed at Monash right now.

Can only answer 2. A guy who got 99.85 from our school last year did this, and he was allowed to bring his english tutor as well to read over his script (ie. his 3 essays unmarked). She decided that he was already lucky to have got his mark, so they didn't pursue the matter.

How messed up English was.

Unit 3 Sac scores averaged D+,
Unit 4 Sac scores averaged C+,
Exam, biggest stress, predicted a B at the best.
Get an A and everything gets dragged up so C+ and B+ for unit 3 and 4.

I think the English examinor must have really liked me..
