You can try jumpstart - it just fills you in on all you need to know
Pretty much Unit 1 is strongly related to Unit 3 but Unit 4 not so much to Unit 2 - there's really none of the indepth DNA and evolution stuff in Year 11
Unit 3 - all the cell stuff; biomolecules, organelles, membranes
respiration/photosynthesis
homeostasis

But I'm using Nature of Biology and it kinda repeats all the basics - I didn't officially complete Biology 1+2 - just read through the textbook- Unit 1 more than Unit 2 throughout year 10 and looked at sample questions... But, you should be fine

Good luck :)

Mm tsfx lecture,  or the notes would be handy!
The main thing that is carried over for unit 3 are the cells, organelles,  homeostasis,  nervous system,  and..  Enzymes +  macro molecules

I only did the 3/4 as well so I did jumpstart on the holidays which I found really helpful. http://www.cengage.com/nzsec/instructor.do?disciplinenumber=1516&product_isbn=9780170132145&courseid=NCS01&codeid=W35T&subTab=Overview&mainTab=&mailFlag=true&topicName=
It's really good just to learn the basics so you don't feel completely out of depth. Having said that you would pick it all up really quickly at school so I wouldn't worry if you can't be bothered :P

These 3&4 topics are touched on in 1&2

Unit 3:
  • Cell structure and organelles
  • Membranes and movement across membranes (eg. types of diffusion)
  • Biomacromolecules (carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and nucleic acids)
  • Cellular respiration
  • Photosynthesis
  • Homeostasis (particularly the role of the nervous and endocrine systems)

Unit 4:
  • Mitosis and meiosis

So I don't really really need to touch any prac exams, notes, textbook related to Unit1?
I was frustrating on how to start my study, either Unit 1 or 3.

Unless you're struggling, I'd just go straight into Unit 3 . The content from Units 1&2 is extended only a bit in Units 3&4 anyway. Certainly don't bother with practice exams from Unit 1 :)

consider investing in A+ notes for biology, i found their notes to be concise and they get straight to the point, but you should skim through the 3/4 textbook to grasp the concepts as many have posted there are only a few concepts that are required from 1/2 which i think can be easily learnt.

So Jumpstart Bio 3/4 is related to Unit 1+3 stuff, yeah?
If I get it, then I don't have to worry about Unit 1 textbook stuff or any prac exams?

To be honest nothing besides A+ notes, Biozone and a bio-textbook (eg. NoB)

I didn't go to any lectures, didn't buy any additional notes, and I still managed to go well in bio.

LOL, I did went there too and it was great- the lady named Di Barclay(might misspelled her name). I reckon the lectures at Access(Bio) are more better than TSFX lectures coz TSFX tends to rush after first hour lecture but notes are still more comprhensive and detailed..
