Take these words of advice and you'll be fine :
- Going to tutoring does not account for studying. Eg: Just because you go to Dr. He doesn't mean you get automatically 45+ in maths and 99+ atar.
- If you go to a bad school, ensure you're rank 1 for SACs or it'll bite you in the arse
- Study consistently, and never get complacent. Eg: Don't finish the accounting course over the holidays then not touch it for two months and forget 90% of it, but then study in another burst and A+ midyears and think yo can do the same thing for end of years but you cant and you only get an A but someone you knew got the same mid year mark as you and got a 50 cause they were consistent. Lol
- Never over-estimate your abilities (ties in with getting complacent)
In all honesty, it shouldn't be hard, if you are consistent.
Also, getting in to the habit of studying should be done ASAP. It's like working out - the first few days is the hardest, but afterwards its just a habit. And this goes for being lazy too. Not studying until exam time = major case of alopecia, see:
Hair annoying and also gives you bad study habits!
Good luck!
ALSO!
If you don't do well for mid years, trust me, you can make up for it by just doing your best for SACs and end of years, you'll really surprise yourself. Never go "oh crap i got a B+ in midyears, ill just study for my other subs and chem will be my bottom 2" sometimes things won't work out your way.
These were all of my fatal flaws (:
Avoid them and 99+ it bwahaha
