Honestly, then what else do girls like? Personally I would have gone jewellery shopping.

I like jewellery shops. Makes me think of what I will buy a girl to propose.  ;D

Reminds me of a story. I bought my girlfriend of the time an expensive rose gold locket to give to her. Cost me a lot for a poor student. She broke up with me and said I was not going out and doing dinner and stuff like that with her enough. Explain I just spent a lot of money on a rose gold locket for her. Her face dropped. Told her it did not matter now and that was that.

Go to a mutual friend's birthday party a few weeks later. She comments on how nice a new gold ring is I have. Asked me where I got it. Told her that I returned her locket and spent it on myself.
