Your opinion on Bollywood

Ok, no bagging me here. I'm just merely asking on your opinion.

I know lots of people who hate bollywood for its "fakeness" (or the unrealistic plots, or the sometimes copying of Hollywood films, or the extended-to-the-power-of-extended songs, the general theme of love....blah blah blah you get the idea)

I am a curry at heart, and will proudly admit, that although Bollywood has some reasons that it can be laughed at, I love it. Probably because I'm a girl and whatnot. Idk. I am quite a fanatic, ask me any movie, I can name the storyline and the actors/ actresses in it. Yea I know, I'm crazy.

So whats your take?

I'm no curry, but I find that moment
where the major characters sing and
somehow a mass of people just randomly
joining to be alright, albeit slightly unrealistic
in general.

So Bollywood's cool.

The only Bollywood I've come across is in this Gymkhana video.

Ruined the megamercial, but I quite liked the explosions and missiles.

I'll be honest: I didn't even know what bollywood was until I saw that Hustle episode where Danny Blue tried to con that Indian guy and they had to make a bollywood film.

I'm a curry, but I never got into the whole Bollywood thing, well I guess until recently. You know how a couple of years ago everyone, or the curry girls anyway, were going nuts over any Hindi films? That never happened to me. I'd never seen Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kal Ho Na Ho until about a year ago. My first Hindi film was probably Koi Mil Gaya.

I dont mind Bollywood stuff. I think while the concept of romance within the films might be a tad cliched, the story lines themselves arent too predictable. Like yesterday I watched 3 Idiots with my buddies. That was a good movie though. I cant say I'm too big of a fan of Katrina Kapoor in it though. I didnt realise Amir Khan was in 3 idiots until about half way through. Him in Gajini...OMG

Shahrukh Khan will never get old.

edit: LMAO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFgO0MUPHaw I love gupta. But whats this song?

I like Bollywood, because they always have some sort of comedy in every film despite all seriousness. It's also really good to watch to kill off some time and makes you feel better, even though you know most of it is total bull.

I can't get over the theme song to Salaam Namaste.

My first bollywood movie was Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. I remember I was crushed when Simran wasnt actually singing.
I loved Koi Mil Gaya. Especially coz Preity Zinta had my name:)
In my opinion, Katrina Kapoor cant act. That too with Priyanka Chopra (but she's tolerable...)

^ that's south indian, not bollywood

bollywood mostly sucks ass
found out most of my favourite hindi songs were ripped off like koreans and arabs..

amir khan is probably the only legit actor/movie maker
but i dont like classifying him under bollywood, cause that's insulting

sharuk khan is alright, kinda john abraham  abhishek bacchan fan he has some good films
99% of bollywood is so god awful bad omg roflbbqz
