could i major in marketing..and take up other random subjects, provided i meet prerequsites? is business regarded as useful? lol. i have no other way to put it :)

Business majors is reasonably useful, but essentially it's essentially two subject from each of three different majors. Personally i think would be more beneficial to jsut do a double major in two specific disciplines

Don't know what to do... what you guys think about actuarial studies?
Help me out guys

It's good, and so far the maths subjects have been the hardest part, not the actuarial subjects. It's a good, employable major but it is challenging. You can very easily change out of the major and switch into virtually any other major you want after 1st year and into a finance/economics major after second year if you course plan smartly so defs give it a go and see how you go with it.

econometrics seem to involve a whole lot of maths, economics less so.
That's cause ur going to have a lot of formulas for business statistics in
econometrics.

There will be lots more maths if you did it academically though (like masters, PhD etc).

haha, you'll find an inordinate proportion of people (basically everyone asian) does accounting/finance. Really there are no 'strange' combos, just do what you enjoy, it will lead you to a job you enjoy, no point picking  majors if you're not going to enjoy it! Also i know plenty of people tha are planning to mix management or marketing with another major, there is nothing that forces you to do them together, although that generally is the norm

I got a 95.35 and didn't get in. :(
Seeing as the clearly-in is 95.45 anyone think I have any chance of getting a 2nd round offer?

Thats harsh, guessing you didn't have Seas

SEAS/access Melbourne this year has become a little unfair imo

Sounds very reasonable to me.
So does Finance/Management

It has been explained to me that not doing accounting gives up on some traditional areas of employment but leaves open other more ambitious plans, particularly if you plan to continue with a Master of Engineering or a JD etc

Question, say I want to do masters of engineering, does that mean because of the breadth subjects required, I can't do a double major in Commerce?
