Is it bad to use a word numerous times in a paragraph, given that there are only a few alternatives? I know it's not appropriate to be repetitive but what happens when you literally can't use anything else? I started writing a text response about war and realised I'd used the word 'war' so many times in each paragraph. There's only a few other choices like combat, conflict or battle. Cheers!

It can be a bad thing as it can get annoying at times. What I did (I used words like 'reality' and 'imagination' too much in my Context pieces) is to search up a list of synonyms (online is a good place to start, or a good thesaurus). Initially, you might find that half of them will not be applicable to what you need, but by going through them on a regular basis (maybe 5mins every 3 or 4 days or so) you will learn to use them :)
