Centrelink forms to fill out?

Hey guys! Since I'm most likely going to be studying interstate and hence away from home, what forms and such would I have to fill out to obtain youth allowance and all the associated help? Would anyone be able to link me?

Thanks!

Or you can visit your local Centrelink office to obtain a form.

Hey,

I am in a similar situation to you but unfortunately even if you live away from home, youth allowance and the other benefits are still entirely dependent on the income of your parents. So if you aren't currently eligible for YA, then there's a good chance that you still won't be even if you are living away from home.

But I think the best thing would be to give them a call, the number and all the other relevant info will be on their website http://www.centrelink.gov.au/internet/internet.nsf/payments/youth_allow.htm

It all depends on your centrelink status. Which is crap, and is forcing me to take a gap year. The Government complains about lack of people in certain industries but how can I afford to fix this problem if I don't get YA? D:

Yeah they are so annoying - they changed it so now you can't work for a year and become 'independent', so I have to wait til I'm 22 to start getting anything from centrelink... -_-

Oh really? I thought anyone who had to move out of home to study because of distance received centrelink payments. Didn't realise it was still based on parental income.

It's based off of parental income for a year. After that you're classed as an independent.

How do I know this? I went to centrelink the other day.
