I thought it was worth it for chem and physics :)

So, TSFX is not worth to go?  ???

Personally, TSFX lectures helped me a lot in understanding the topics taught in Methods and Chemistry, so the quality is definitely there. They also allowed me to get ahead in class whenever I wanted to with little difficulty. However they are a bit costly and I would only recommend going to one of their lecture programs throughout next year. I went to the 'Winter School' and 'Essentials Exam Revision' lectures for some of my 1/2's - the notes were kinda similar so that was a waste of money.

There are also some other, more affordable lecture programs out there. Access Education hold VCE preparation lectures which are way more cheaper, and their notes aren't too bad :)

Go to TSFX summer school if you find lectures really beneficial, and if you can afford it

Headstart has actually been so exciting! :)

Definitely a completely different vibe to Further. Instead of having an egotistical jerk who cared little for his work, I have very supportive teachers who are creating a very relaxed but conductive learning environment. It's also nice to be learning content that you're truly interested in. One major change from Year 11 is the fact that all subjects are "level" now - I don't have to neglect other subjects because they're all equal in worth. I didn't receive studies in Year 11 either, so this is also a very helpful change. How has your experience been so far?

Our jumpstart is next week.

In the meantime I'm all worn out from socialising. :)

Lucky. I only got one day off. Even today, we had the academic awards ceremony in the morning (I won four, by the way :D) and then we moved straight into headstart after recess. Luckily for some subjects this program means I'll have no holiday homework (eg Specialist) and for others it will minimise the holiday homework. I guess that means more time to familiarise myself with my English texts.

We've had two weeks of head start so far, one more week to go!

I've been loving headstart, it feels so good to take school seriously haha!

I'm gaining confidence each day and enjoying the pressure somewhat. For the holidays, I want to finish all the Core work for further, read the entire context text (GUAIA), skim the AOS for chem and methods and on top of that, do all the holiday homework! Fun Fun Fun

OMG you guys are so keen; you're making me look bad, haha! :D

I don't know about you, but I seriously need a break before even contemplating year 12. How can you be full of boundless energy and motivation at the end of a school year? :P :P Aren't you tired?

Don't worry about anyone else. Take a break. It will be your last sustained break for awhile.

I don't know where the energy is coming from haha!  My parents won't be happy with my report this year but yeah, I know what matters. My over enthusiasm is probably coming from the fact that now, I love every subject I do and hence, enjoy school. Last year, physics pretty much ruined school for me, I hated going because of that class. I sucked at it, so that brought my confidence down for every subject. I hated school in general.

Now all of that is over. It's a fresh start for me, English, Chem, Further, Methods and Spesh (will see how it goes). I have a passion and the will to do well for all of them. Many peers are also doubtful of my goals and ability, so to prove them wrong is another source of motivation. The vision of me receiving a brand new Kawasaki Ninja 300R on my birthday pushes it a further 200% and the vision of getting a text with an ATAR of 90+ make me what to write an expository essay right now :D lol

(even if I'm not good at the subjects I'm doing, the fact that I'm enjoying them is the one that counts in my opinion)

Don't worry about anyone else. Take a break. It will be your last sustained break for awhile.

Yeah, I'll be taking at least a weeks break to do what ever I feel like. It is summer holidays for a reason! Not that the summer has any meaning as I'll be stuck at home, glued to my computer monitors.  ;)

I don't want to burst your bubble, but do keep in mind that almost EVERYONE is that enthusiastic about their studies in year 12. Its those that sustain that attitude through everything that achieve success.

Yes, that's why I have every intention of only doing what's actually required of me this summer (with the exception of English - I'll try to get to know my texts very well).
