Seeing the way I have improved though throughout the year gives me so much hope though and I cannot thank you guys enough for grinning and bearing it (I know you must be getting sick of me :P). Now I don't like to talk about this, but I put it out there, and I'd appreciate it if you could try to keep this sort of discussion to a minimum. From now on, when I mention my concerns, say something bright and happy - it'll work. :)

So, what is everyone's plans for the holidays?

I hate not to change the subject, but I know that anxiety can be really debilitating, so good on you for getting through this year, Stick. And reiterating what pi said, if worst comes to worst, there's nothing wrong with taking medication.

Anyway in the holidays I want to read more Shakespeare and go to the beach. :)

Well, my holidays will be as long as I choose! I'm going to get a Latin textbook, teach myself some stuff before an intensive course at Melb and play a   METRIC SHIT LOAD of Pokemon! And read every book ever.

EVER.

Yay osgood!! Which ones would you read?
I think I'll start with Midsummer Night's dream ; it would be most apt. :)
I need to make a list of books I'm going to read, actually. Any suggestions?
Would you believe though, that I've never read Pride and Prejudice? (...don't hate on me, haha.)

Hahahahaha yes!
Nah not going to schoolies. Going straight to working shit loads so I can buy pokemans and books etc. I might take a week to train pokemans for the meetup, though.
I'm going a Double in Arts/Secondary Education but doing the intensive Latin course before the first semester starts!
Good books? Try the AN Thread for sure hahaha.
Otherwise, all Stephen King!
The Talisman, by SK and Peter Straub
The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay (my favourite book) and its sequel, Tandia.
The Stand, StephK
Uuuuuhhmmmm
The Secret History - Donna Tartt (spelling?)
Twelve Angry Men - Reginald Rose (also on VCE text list)
(Why do good books run away from my mind when I'm telling people)
Fight Club - Chuck Palanalksjdfhalkd
The Tommyknockers -SK (ah, screw it, just read every SK you can get your hands on)
If you like thrillers "Nikki French" is an awesome author, look into books from her.
The Borribles (trilogy), I forget the author but greatgreatgreat books.
To Kill a Mockingbird (if you haven't already)
The Great Gatsby
Paradise Lost
I'lll come back and edit this later.

I'll suspect you'll have some of read these before, but just in case:

Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner (A. A. Milne)
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Lewis Carroll)
Roverandom (J.R.R. Tolkein)
Life of Pi (Yann Martel)
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Douglas Adams)
He Died with a Felafel in His Hand (John Birmingham)
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (Mark Haddon)
Boy and Going Solo (Roald Dahl)
Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions - by A. Square (which is a pseudonym of course)
Perks of Being a Wallflower (Stephen Chbosky)

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (Mark Haddon)
One of the best books I've ever read. In Year 9 I HATED it, but in hindsight, wow, what a great book.

Also get on Catcher in the Rye. It's one of those books either you hate or you love.

I love it.

Along with The Great Gatsby this is one of the texts that made me want to live in New York haha. Amazing stuff.

Studied it for context this year. I was in the 'hate it' camp because Holden Caulfield is so annoying (I guess there's irony in that statement haha).

I don't know what I'll be doing exactly for my holidays. I know my parents wanted to book a holiday to help me physically unwind before Year 12, but they left their run too late and most places are fully booked. -.- My holidays will start a couple days before everyone else because I have to have my wisdom teeth out during the extra week of Specialist headstart (not that it's a problem - we've been told that we don't need to attend once we've finished all the provided work) so I guess that will force me to take a break. Other than that, I guess lounging around at time and perhaps meeting up with friends will be on the agenda. I learnt from last summer holidays not to do anymore homework other than the set headstart work, so I'll be giving myself a proper break for once. :P

I seriously need to start some solid Unit 2 revision today. Making summary notes is probably not enough. =_=
