No, I have a friend who applied for Dentistry at La Trobe, Adelaide and UQ. He got all three. He's now going to Adelaide because he doesn't want to live in Bendigo, he prefers to live in a city, which is fair enough. There are probably other reasons as well. La Trobe Bendigo isn't exactly Melbourne anymore, so there's little difference between moving to Bendigo and to Adelaide/Brisbane.

And as iffets12345 said, another reason is reputation. Adelaide and UQ are possibly the best undergraduate dental schools in Australia.

Well some people want to go home on the weekends.. It's easier to train 2 hours from bendigo than it is to plane and then bus from adelaide.

umm didn't you get some form or something in your enrolment pack? Anyways in o-week u get sent to stalls to sign up if you want :). Join Bohds!

They only give one scholarship to a Dentistry Cohort. This is because Dentistry students are easily the highest achieving academically from VCE, and they can't give thirty scholarships to an entire cohort. In my year it was a girl who got 99.85... so yea. Unless you're from a rural or aboriginal background then thats the only scholarship you can get at this stage.

Is there anything good to go to during O-week? Because I'm thinking of just going to the dentistry specific ones and maybe a couple random events on Tuesday and Wednesday, and then just heading back to Melbourne on Wednesday afternoon.
