That's impossible as a girl won last year.

Ah right. My school is too maths/science focused to have any kind of extra-curricular social science clubs haha. Unfortunately. Yeah finding a partner for Thant-Evatt is a bitch, everyone is too intimidated. I didn't do it last year though, it's always a Year 12 pair who compete for my school.

PESA is the Plain English Speaking Awards. It's a VCAA public speaking competition.

Ahhh! I've never heard of it referred to as "Pesa" haha! Umm I was going to be in it by it was my own fault. Teacher from my school emailed me asking me to represent the school but I forgot to to go and see him so he went ahead and assumed that I wasn't interested :(

Oh well - ill just enter other ones haha.

PESA isn't terribly advanced, they seem to have a preference for speeches which are based on current affairs and reject anything remotely philosophical, irritatingly.

Are we talking about the person that won the national title in 2011? It was held in Sydney and a girl by the name of "Ellie Jamonts" or something from Star of the Sea College won..
