Eurovision 2012 National Selection Thread
« on: February 11, 2012, 04:29:46 pm »
+6
As the self-proclaimed resident Eurovision freak here, one of my annual highlights is the Eurovision song contest, held in May. For the first time this year, the contest will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, after they won the contest in 2011.

While the contest is still 5 months away, many countries are currently in the process of selecting their national entry this year, or have already selected. (In other words, I cannot hold my excitement in for another 5 months and wanted to create this thread now.) I will update this thread as broadcasters determine their song for the year.

Please feel free to comment on the songs. :)

No one's posted yet! :O I guess I'll have to spur on a conversation.

I'm loving Cyprus' entry this year. Also really liking France's and Norway's entries so far.

Eurovision is kind of awesome, just saying.

Don't think Azerbaijan deserved to win it though.

YAY! Jedward are representing Ireland again! :D Loving their song.

I really enjoyed Jedward's performance last year, they're just so talented and amazing!!!
Just for the record, i'm not crying, it's just something in my eyes, a wood chip.  That's right, a wood chip from when I was cutting the tree down with my axe and other manly activities.

But in all seriousness, Jedward's Waterline doesn't really impact me as much as Lipstick did.  Still going for the motherland though.

I liked their song last year too, but it didn't sound great in the live performance. It will be interesting to see how they perform Waterline this year. The range seems easier, but you never know...
