Can I do a diploma through summer semester?

Is it possible for me to do a diploma through summer semester/overloading instead of adding on an additonal year? Would you not recommend doing so?
I'm intrerested in either a dip. lang or one of the liberal arts ones.

Languages, no, because they're not offered during summer semester: http://www.arts.monash.edu.au/current/summer-winter/units-summer.php

Yes you can overload but I think you need permission from the law faculty to do that
