Deakin Or Monash University?

Hi guys.

Really seeking out some advice here! So the dream has always been to study at Bachelor of Arts/Commerce at Monash Clayton but unfortunately I didn't get the ATAR I wanted. I did get an offer to study a Bachelor of Arts at Deakin but I also got an offer from Monash University to study their DoTs program to transfer straight into second year.

Basically the DoTs program Monash is offering me is a first year diploma at the Berwick campus. I have to score 60% for all my units or I fail on the spot but 70% of students do go onto their second year at Clayton/Caulfield. I know that getting 60% won't be a problem but I am so tempted to take the offer at Deakin as well. I want to meet lots of new people and enjoy my first year and Deakin would be best for that but Monash would probably be the safest option to Clayton if that was the dream.

What do you think I should do? Do the Deakin Arts and transfer mid-year and end-year to Clayton and lose some credits or just do Monash DoTs but suffer an anti-social life?

Would the DoTs programme be that bad socially? Are you able to participate in Monash uni events and clubs and stuff?
