http://www.its.unimelb.edu.au/support/networks/wireless/uniwireless

If you have done this and still have problems, could you provide details. Does your operating system say what the problem is (i.e., wrong password, couldn't get IP address etc.)

Yes, i was trying to access it on iPhone. It said incorrect details. I don't think I'm suppose to use my portal details to acesss unimelb wireless. I just finished reading that link you posted which was helpful. It says i need to access it with my "central email username and password" i don't know what my central email username is. I thought it was my portal login.

I went into the Baillieu library the other day and asked the librarian how I'd go about connecting certain devices to the wireless network. She kindly gave me a booklet which was divided into many sections for different laptops and mobiles. I connected my macbook and iphone to both the wireless internet and printing.

What I'm getting at is ask for that magic booklet!

On my desire HD:

Settings --> wifi -->wifi settings --> advanced (from menu) -->wifi proxy --> then for host : wwwproxy.student.unimelb.edu.au ---> port 8000.

Then you enable proxy whenever you want to use uniwireless and disable it whenever you don't. Hope that helps although it's a different phone.
