I received the mark for my first bio prac and got a C. Inspite of thinking that I had most things right I only got a lousy C. There was mainly doing drawings of specimens under the microscope and labeling those drawings and a few quizzes. What the hell happened? Suggestions? Has this happened to you?

Biology of cells and organisms? Do we have to write out a report sheet or something at the end of prac 2 and we get it marked or something?

Well I'm a La Trobe student, the quizzes were online ones and got like 50% on one, full marks on the other and one other quizz was done in class and got full marks for that as well so maybe the one I didn't do too well in got me a low score.

I got fairly average marks for my first bio pracs when I started uni. What they're looking for is very exact and precise and there's a lot of stuff that you can do without meaning to (eg lines having arrows on them etc.)

Just relax, it's your first semester and there's plenty of time to improve your marks once you settle into the classes

Yeah, I'm mainly writing hand written summaries of lecture notes but I get the feeling I'm doing long summaries but at least I'm learning as I go. So much cool stuff goes on in my BIO1AD lectures, heaps of zoology and awesome stuff about protists :).

That's what I'm trying to do yes. I'm starting to think that writing summaries of lectures counter productive. If I can read and process information faster than I can write it then I don't I just read the content? Much faster.
