Credit in student exchange programs

If you go on a student exchange program, can you usually get credit for the studies that you undertake overseas?

What about if it's from a really foreign sounding uni and what if the course you're doing in that country isn't taught in English? Is it likely that you'd be given credit?

What university?

Generally unis will have partnerships with foreign unis. To get approved for exchange in the first place, you have to get your faculty to check and approve the units you'll be studying over there. So yes if you follow the procedures for exchange you should get credit

For exchange you should get credit, as that's part of the program. If you organise it yourself (study abroad) then there is no guarantee that your home university will credit any work you have done.
