atarcalc.com

go and put in what you think you'll get and it'll spit out the required scores

Since you're doing some very high scaling subjects, a 45 in English and 40+ in everything else should give you above 99.50 easily

50 raw for all those will get you across the line.

Might be enough to get you the highest aggregate in the state too ;)  - especially as the 5.5 increment is no longer in place

Think he'd be pushing it...

On a more serious note, so this post isn't a waste ;)

You could get a 99.50 with a variety of different study scores but to give you a little insight; based on last years scaling a 45 in English along with 39 in all other subjects, or a 40 in English and 42 in all other subjects would most likely get you the said ATAR.

Just keep plugging in potential study scores until you feel you have come up with a realistic result you can aim for and consequently achieve.

Seconded, thirded, whatever for AtarCalc.com, it's a great resource.
Play around with scores to see the different combinations of achieving your 'dream'.
Have those goals in mind throughout the year so that you don't lose your focus.

On another, yet relevant, note:
Try not to get too bogged down on your maths and sciences, especially considering you are doing 6 subjects this year. (I am assume it's only in one year because you haven't mentioned any year 11 subjects, if applicable.)

The reason for this is because English is a discriminator.
You can be bloody brilliant at everything, but English is obviously what VTAC is looking for as one of the prerequisites. So don't neglect it. One student can do 4 subjects as opposed to a student doing 5 or 6 over 1 or 2 years. The student doing 4 might ace English, meaning their ATAR won't be pulled down because of English. My experience with English was that I ended up doing twice the amount of work for English than I did ELang, if not more. (ELang is arguably much more strategic in terms of structure and content, somewhat 'science-y'.) Thus I was surprised that a subject I spent MUCH less time on received +1 SS higher than English. I can't contribute to this theory with science as I didn't do any of those subjects, but I think you get my point! You look like you're a bloody genius anyway, (speshly for Latin, props!) so feel free to disregard all this if ya wanna :)

OH! And if you get 30 in Latin ... .... -----> 47 SS. :OOOOO

Thanks for the replies everyone, I had a look at atarcalc and it was pretty useful. Also greenbeans, I wasn't clear in my original post but I'm actually in year 11 this year doing methods 3/4, and the others I plan to do next year - great advice though.
