When to start doing practice exams?
« on: April 16, 2012, 04:53:11 pm »

Just checked the timetable, and it seems like the midyear will be on the 12th of June. Could anyone suggest me a deadline date for when I should start doing any prac. exams?

Thanks ^^ And how else should I study for the midyears?

Usually a month before hand or maybe even now.
Typically doing past exams, revising notes, have post-it notes everywhere.
And just steady yourself.

You could even get a friend to write a weekly pop quizz for you and vice versa.

I have already started my practice exams but I highly doubt many people have. I would start them a month before at the latest if it were me.

Why not start now

Just remember the more time you have means the more prac exams you can complete
2012-2014. BSc: Neuroscience. University of Melbourne.
2015-2018. Doctor of Optometry. University of Melbourne.

Unlikely to respond to any PMs these days.

I'm going to start when I hit the immune system, there's no point doing prac exams for me now as I haven't even gotten past halfway through AoS2...

Do you need to finish the course to start practice exams? My class is behind the whole state in everything IMO.. and I started late so I don't think ill finish the course by June 12..

Also, should you be doing ones from 2008 onwards? because i checked VCAA and the current study design was from 2008 exams.

Question wise I think a good idea would be to do things like checkpoints with exam questions set by topic now, and start practice exams whenever you feel comfortable and have covered the whole course (to some extent). I think doing the first 3 or so practice exams open book is beneficial because you focus on how to answer the question more than your memory, then progress to exam conditions.
