26 is the bottom 90% isn't it? LOL

nah, bottom 10% or something :P

Oh yeah I meant to say that LOL

Well my friend got 49 last year bullshitting about wolves in Twilight...so...

However, don't try doing that in Year 12, because if you do end up getting hit by a car then you are actually screwed

I think the writing task was the only "enjoyable" part of the GAT - Multiple choice was so daunting! I managed a 42 for the writing component in year 12 but 39 in year 11 which is weird because in year 11 I actually tried so hard to produce a good piece of writing whereas in year 12 I just let my pen flow and came up with a really random piece of writing haha! :D I think the main thing they want from you is to just link all the info together in a really logical and coherent manner (and to write in an interesting form while you're at it) - Believe it or not, for last years werewolf GAT stimulus, I actually pretended to be a museum guide for a bunch of (presumably) werewolf and canine interested people haha and so I thought it was so much easier to sort of combine all the stimulus information by just telling the "visitors" certain facts and twisting the information in different ways just to avoid making it look like I was just regurgitating facts from the information given - I think this made things easier :) Don't stress too much for the GAT- it'll never pull your score down :) Just (try to) have a bit of fun with it :P

I know there's two writing tasks for the GAT exam and that one is an argumentative piece, but what type of text is the other one? Is it just an informative essay or something?

I got a perfect score for the written component last year, and I think that might have helped raise my Lit score. I was ranked number 1 in SACs but then choked on my exam, so it possibly boosted my study score.

So definitely try and do well.

It doesn't do anything to your scores under normal circumstances. I got a much higher score in the science/maths component as compared to the written component of the GAT but my study scores were the other way round.

The best part of the GAT is when you finish, everyone starts making groups on facebook highlighting some of the hilarious/weird questions that have appeared. 'A man delicately sucking a lemon' appeared on the 2011 GAT, anyone remember? :P
2012-2014. BSc: Neuroscience. University of Melbourne.
2015-2018. Doctor of Optometry. University of Melbourne.

Yes, they seriously just do this so people rock up lol.

Last year it was also about including Charlie Sheen, previously it was Bear Grylls. Something like that.

I wonder what is next; the evolution of the GAT is one which can be easily observed.
