And how does a ribosome come into this play?

Thanks , and sorry for such a stupid question :(

The ribosome is comprised of two subunits: a large (L) and a small (S) - when not translating, the two subunits are separate.

Initially, the start codon (AUG) binds to the S subunit and then the L subunit joins the complex. There are also some initiator proteins involved too

The L subunit has three sites where tRNA molecules bind: A, P and E
- A (amino acid) – where the charged tRNA anticodon binds to the mRNA codon
- P (polypeptide) – where the tRNA adds its amino acid to the growing polypeptide chain
- E (exit) – where the tRNA goes before leaving the ribosome (it has no amino acid attached to it at this point)

:)

Nope, but the question was asked and a response had to be given :D
