I haven't done this exam yet, but would you go as far as saying that this is the hardest chem u3 exam of all? Is it even VCAA standard? and what's so hard about it, lik are the questions still within the scope of the course?
It isn't VCAA standard, but it's definitely within the scope of the course. The questions are quite challenging, but they're all do-able with Unit 3 knowledge. Give it a shot, it's good fun.
There's a few questions that required recalling a bit of year 11 knowledge (Q1 MC sort of).
2a, the bit with alkynes looks off the course, but I'm stil working thru it

I'm pretty sure it was just there as a distractor. Through working out, you can narrow it down to double bondsI guess it's similar to how VCAA and trial exams throw in questions involving ketones and aldehydes.
