How can you rank them when VCE results haven't even come out for JMSS, Nossal & Cory.
2012 ATAR: 99.20
2013-2015: Bachelor of Biomedicine (Microbiology/Immunology: Infections and Immunity) at The University of Melbourne
2016-2019: Doctor of Medicine (MD4) at The University of Melbourne

Alright... minus Suzanne Cory... JMSS and Nossal have Year 11 results out (http://bettereducation.com.au/Results/VceAll.aspx)
John Monash ranks 7th while Nossal ranks at 126...

Even though Nossal and JMSS are fairly 'new' schools... this is just my opinion so yeah.. :/

MHS, MacRob, Nossal, JMSS.

"Best" means more than academia imo, so: MHS, then Mac.Rob, then Nossal and JMSS are tied

Justification:
1) MHS - strong academic record (consistently top 3), but also have excellent facilities for a school that doesn't charge exuberant fees (swimming pool, huge oval, hockey field and pavilion, 4 outdoor basketball courts, etc.). Good location too.
2) Mac.Rob - superb academic record (usually first), but honestly, it looks very shabby (ie. toilet block and/or mental institution). They sold their oval to a golf course company a while back due to lack of funds and they don't have many large open areas. Having said that, they have an excellent central location, better than that of MHS.
3a) JMSS - decent academic record so far, but what the actual f*ck is with their facilities. One basketball court and a tiny fake grass lawn is all they have. They don't even own the car-park behind their school, terrible. Also, I have a personal vendetta against the ones of the 601 bus who think they are top sh*t by sitting down with their bags everywhere discussing their A's in psychology instead of giving up their seats to the non-uni adults on the bus**. Disgraceful. Apparently they can use Monash resources, but I'll always associate them with that one crappy basketball court :P Clayton isn't the coolest place out there either.
3b) Nossal - don't know a whole lot about them, but I doubt they have it as bad as JMSS facility-wise. Also, I would feel bad putting them under JMSS in the ranking scheme :P I'm not sure where their school is, but it's pretty close to being rural, so location isn't so great either.

**sorry for the rant sentence, had to get that off my chest

Umm, John Monash ranked 7th because there were 189 kids that sat a 3/4 exam. Nossal had 7.
You can're compare these two based on academic results at this stage.

It's actually quite annoying... And then one time you guys had a free dress day or something and these three JMSS guys jumped onto the bus wearing Monash Med hoodies... wtf.

But yeah our facilities really suck :( I spend most of my lunchtimes studying because there's nothing better to do...

Fair enough then... but 189 kids sitting a 3/4 exam while ranking 7th in the state is a pretty good average but in the end... we'll see their ranks at the end of the year :)

I remember when I was going to Mac.Rob for the first time, I walked past the place like four times, thinking it was just some random looking block.

Co-curricula wise, MHS would trump Mac.Rob. Apparently the school captain at Mac.Rob can't involve herself in any other co-curricula because the school doesn't let her for some reason.

Academic wise, MHS and Mac.Rob would be roughly even if they had the same number of students. The MHS VCE cohort is always around 700 students (one of - if not, the largest cohort in the entire state), whereas the Mac.Rob VCE cohort is around 400-500 students, since they don't accept as much people from the entrance exam. If MHS accepted 100 less people in the entrance exam then that would level the playing field a lot more.

On a side note, I still remember how there was a "MHS & Mac.Rob are better than Nossal and JMSS" page on Facebook in 2010. All these Nossal and JMSS kids got angry and started calling us homosexuals and gays. Good times.

Haha, I've still got like 200 mates who've liked that page (myself included) :D
