Hi,

I suspect that you'd get this type of question asked here quite often, so I hope you don't mind.

How hard will it be for me to get an ATAR of about 80?

So far, in my SACs I have received the following marks:

<--------------------------------------------------------->
English: SAC1=14/20, SAC2=18/20, SAC3=22/30

Physics: SAC1=68%, SAC2=62%

Maths Methods: SAC1= 50%

Software Dev: SAC1= 28-35/40 (Exact result not given)

Further Maths: SAC1=92%
<--------------------------------------------------------->

I'm hoping to get an ATAR of 80 to allow for a variety of options once I leave school. My current preferred uni course has an ATAR of about 75.

Am I on track to achieve my goal, or must I pick up my game?

Thanks,

Nick

Yes there is always time to improve! There are plenty of SACs to conquer and the mid-year exam for Physics which is worth 33%. ATAR of 80 is not that hard to achieve from what I've heard (it's not a 99.95 that's for sure), but that doesn't mean you won't have to work hard.. however with hard-work you could possibly even achieve higher then that. Just work hard from now on, get help from teachers, get a tutor if you are struggling and be curious! Actually research on the stuff you are learning as you are more likely to remember information if you have an interest in the subject. And remember there are always other options out there should you not meet the requirements for your course.. it's not the end of the world as people say, if you are hard-working and passionate about what you what to do in life you will succeed and get to where you want to be!

Watch these two motivational videos because they have helped me personally to not loose hope:
