Now dont worry guys, im not planing to stab the examiner if i cant figure out one of the questions, but it was just suggested to me that the scientific calculator i have contains battery's (obviously). and that i will have to undo screws if it runs out of power.

so screwdrivers, are the allowed? or any other way i can stop becoming massively preoccupied over this? ( i think i already know the answer for the first question though...)

why don't you put new batteries in your calc before the exam?

also I don't see why you shouldn't bring a screwdriver into the exam. It's a perfectly normal thing to do.

No you're not.

In all honesty though, scientific calcs only die after like 5 years of heavy use...

I brought one in last year. I left it in my plastic pocket that was my 'pencilcase' which was left on the ground. Not sure if it's allowed, I didn't have to use it. In retrospect, it was probably a bit excessive, I had also changed my batteries a few days before. :P
Usually you can tell if your batteries are gonna die, the digits on the screen begin to fade. And they said they had spare calculators at the front if anyone's died. Don't worry too much about it :)

I concur. I've had mine for 7 years. I haven't changed its batteries once.

Ok, i probably wont go out a get a new battery because i just dragged the folks round everywhere, but its good to know that they don't run out to quickly.

but yeah your only allowed one by the way, witch is sorta understandable because it can store things.

i dient realistic there were spares, i was always told that no matter what the examiners have an obligation not to help you in anyway way, but that is a massive relief :)

Thank you all :)

Lol i dont think so, because the examiners might think you have hidden some answers within the screw driver.

More the fact of using it as a weapon, having said that one examiner did take a good minute to read all the print on the side on my highlighter before confirming that it was just a bar-code and a bunch of labels =.=

You're probably allowed to on VCAA's terms but I'm sure Victoria Police would be very interested to hear about it...
