Highly, highly doubt they'd let you take one in for bio or psych. Defeats the purpose of the subject.

Well a huge amount is based around recall and knowledge of processes. If they're all laid out in front of you it just wouldn't work with the current study design / style of exams

I agree with Bazza16.

I don't know about Bio, but Psych is basically straight recall with no real application of knowledge, hence a notes books would make the exam 2 hours or so (i don't know what the new lengths will be) of straight out copying from notes.

They currently allow notes in Physics because you can have all the equations, but it is the conceptual knowledge and application of these equations that separates students.

Just my thoughts though, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

aargh the poor students of next year...
They are going to have to remember a full year of biology and the exam is gonna link all the ideas together as well.
Sadly i don't think they will allow a bound reference for subjects other than physics because they are mostly knowledge based and would render the exam useless in identifying the harder working students.

What about the poor Chemistry students? Unit 3 and 4 is quite a lot to remember (considering I heard that all the content is staying...). It would be truly saddening if they dumbed it all down though. Chemistry is such a beautiful subject/

You won't need one for chemistry, it's such an applied subject. There's really nothing to remember.  But the VCE Chemistry course is going to be quite fascinating next year, totally jealous of next year's cohort.

We have booklet and periodic table of elements for Chem already Btw, when we do the question, it mainly tests how we understand and apply knowledge so no need to bring notes ^^

Haha well played. To be more specific, there's nothing that you should need to remember that's going to directly help you to answer questions, so long as you've developed an understanding of the required chemistry. That's just how I feel about it.

Theres HEAPS to remember in chem as well.
However, i don't find it as hard to remember as other subjects where you cover topics like once or twice and then are expected to remember them during exams.
